Following increasing interest in the Celtic deities among heathens in the London area Thorskegga will be adding a few of the most popular Celtic deities to her collection of images. She will be finishing the English series first so further Celtic pictures will be slow in coming.
Epona is the goddess of horses. She was adopted by Roman calvalry and charioteers, the only Celtic deity to gain Roman converts. Hence her name appears in Roman script.
Epona's symbols are the horse, dog, bird and cornacopia (fruit filled horn). The background shows the Uffington chalk horse from England which may have been carved in her honour.
